Today being Monday, is the first actual day of sabbatical life, where rather than going in to the office, I can, well, do stuff at home.

Actually I am starting to get ready for my first sabbatical stop, in Flagstaff. But given the impending natioaal holiday tomorrow, it is worth while to take a wee break, organize my stuff-- like trying to finish the basic parts of this web site (which I had thought I would have done months ago). So i will be heading north in a few days.

In the meantime, my sabbatical replacement, Nick, has already begun warming my chair and answering my maricopa email for me. It is odd not to check in on that anymore, as I have been doing it fairly often for the last 8 years! Nick has his work cut out, as I get a lot of email that calls for responses.

In preparation of leaving, I sent out notices to email discussion groups that are frequent users of one of our busiest web sites, Director Web. Already, I have heard from a few more coleagues in New Zealand and Australia who are interested in seeing if I can wing my path through their area. This is great as far as I am concerned.

Okay, now back to packing. Where are those long sleeve shirts (the temperatures are at least 30 degrees cooler in Flagstaff than Phoenix).
